A group of classic characters from various children’s tales come to life in a new way to tell a family-friendly fun story of the celebration of life, rekindling of love and coming together as a community! The Golden Tales of Hip Hop sends you on a journey to see if aspiring rapper Biggie Wolf, whose career and love life is in the trash, can get his life together, Gold D’Locks a famous party girl can find a place to throw her birthday jam in the forest, all while the Rap City Dragon plots to take over and rule the Hip Hop Forest."

In directing this play, I am exploring how actors exhibit the direct effects of telling the story of how racism challenges interpersonal and professional relationships. Treachery, risk and a Black Woman's importance all play a part in maneuvering their respective time periods.

Two different time periods in two different institutions, Academia and Plantation Slavery. Sandra and Sara have similar desires, challenges, and strengths. I want to examine how these two Black Women navigate and exist in their respective institutions. This play relies on storytelling through the use of actors first and foremost. The lights, props, costume and set will be additional tools to help tell the story but how the story lives in the bodies of the actors will be priority and essential.

Maxine Waters said it best: “I am reclaiming my time!” The strength of a Black woman and how it is challenged by the outside institutions and distractions that cause her to sometimes doubt herself. Even though the system tries to diminish her power she has to rightfully reclaim her power.

I was able to lend my skills as the first assistant director on this psychological thriller that has suspense and showcases perseverance.

Perseverance of Truth Leads to God’s Ultimate Glory.
Truth withheld leads to explosive resonance.
Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher,
rebuke your disciples.” Jesus answered, “I tell you, if these
were silent, the very stones would cry out” (Luke 19:39-40).

A couple on the verge of striving and struggling must chose to persevere or cut their losses as they navigate marriage and starting a family.

A new opera musical that brings a breath of danger, levity, and treachery to the classic novel.
